This stage has a stroke of 60 in [1500 mm] and generates 6 lbs [26.6 N] of continuous force. It incorporates a 1 micron resolution linear encoder, which when operated under closed loop control, improves system accuracy and repeatability. This LSS series is a linear stepper positioning stage, which integrates H2W’s linear stepper motor along with a linear encoder. The moving stepper forcer has a lower mass, which makes it ideal for high acceleration applications (0.5 to 1.5 meters per second) with light payloads (less than 1 kg). H2W reduced cost by using a lower resolution encoder and simplified design. This system includes optional air cooling that would allow the stage to achieve higher continuous forces. The stage has standard mounting holes that allow it to be mounted either vertically or horizontally. In the vertical orientation, the lighter weight coil assembly is the moving component. Moving Coil Actuators With Built In Bearings

Previously, customers’ would be required to either implement a bearing system through a stage, or make an accommodation on the envelope by trying to integrate a Moving Magnet Design. H2W has released NCC Actuators that are available from stock with strokes up to 5.2 inches, and longer strokes are available upon request. Although Voice Coil Actuators are traditionally shorter strokes, H2W now offers longer stroke actuators from stock. The moving coil style actuator is provided with supplied internal bushings and a hardened steel shaft.
