Festo High Load High Precision Belt Drive
Indianapolis, IN (August 20th, 2024) - Festo has introduced a new electric linear axis EGC actuator, with features that provide increased rigidity and efficiency over other similar products – as well as safer performance. The EGC is dynamic and fast, whether you choose the toothed belt drive, spindle drive, or guide axis option. Downsizing of the drive means a smaller size can carry the same load, bringing that boost to rigidity and to efficiency that gives you a superior system. The guide is now closer to the load point, with smaller lever arms creating higher maximum loads and more torque. And with motor mounting on the right and left sides and both ends of the toothed belt axis, the motor position can be changed at any time, providing a greater level of flexibility than ever before. Indianapolis, IN (August 20th, 2024) - Festo has released the DGSL slide for precision applications in a compact package. The DGLS is designed for ultra-precise sliding, picking and placing functions, even under high mechanical load. The key to previously undreamed-of precision: An innovative guide unit with a repetition accuracy of 0.01mm and linearity and parallelism in the 1/100mm range. This is ensured by the optional clamping unit and the end-position interlock. This prevents lowering of loads onto workpiece carriers in the case of compressed air supply failure and provides protection in emergency-stop situations. DGSL/ DGSL can be combined directly without adapter plates in pick & place or piggyback configurations. The slides include precise interfaces to Festo's modular handling system. 8 sizes from 4 - 25 mm and strokes up to 200 mm. 3different end stop systems(shock-absorber variant, cushioned met...

Remote Access - Secure And Easy
Indianapolis, IN (August 15th, 2019) - Allied is pleased to introduce Secomea. Secomea stands for Secure Communications Made Easy. What makes Secomea desirable is its low cost and ease of installation with the most important requirements of enhanced security. Security out of the box reduces the chance of an incorrect configuration, leaving vulnerability that other solutions can inherently have. The Secomea agent limits the open ports to those needed for the programming software to access the PLC/HMI (Can use port 80). Many remote access systems fall short, leaving access to other equipment on the network. Secomea uses leading edge security with a two-factor security (password + x509 certificate) for login. If you are currently using a remote access device it likely has only a password for security that can easily be exploited or deemed unacceptable by the IT Network Admin. Secomea has developed its products to wo...
Handling Systems With Next Generation Motion
Indianapolis, IN (August 15th, 2019) - The Festo EXCM kinematic design ensures low moving masses and fixed motor arrangement substantially reduces the requirement for cable management and increased reliability. Compact, light weight, and efficient, the EXCM fits applications where performance and cost must be optimized. Loads from 3kg to 50kg. Indianapolis, IN (February 8th, 2018) - Responding to demand within the HVAC market for a drive that can improve efficiency of air movement through HVAC systems, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. introduces the F800 Series variable frequency drive (VFD). The low-voltage F800 is specifically designed and optimized for HVAC applications, including air handlers, cooling towers, and pumps. While it was designed with the HVAC industry in mind, the multi-functional F800 is appropriate for any motor control application that demands increased motor efficiency and maximum energy savings. The F800 controls and supports multiple motor types, including AC induction and permanent magnet motors, eliminating the need to specify multiple VFDs to address various motor control needs. Using embedded motor control algorithms that optimize AC motor voltage and current based on the desired load, the F800 allows users to maximize motor us...
Indianapolis, IN (September 8th, 2016) - Mitsubishi has taken a major leap in automated assembly with an advanced load cell system. Using a 3 dimensional load cell and advanced controller, assemblies that were at best, difficult, or at worst, impossible, are now achievable with Mitsubishi's state-of-the-art RV-F 6 axis robots. Robots are now available with a three year, onsite warranty! A stand-alone load cell controller connected via Mitsubishi's SSCNET III fiber optic network (used for their high speed motion control) provides the interface that allows the forces in all directions to be relayed to the robot to make the assembly possible. An extensive set of parameters can be used to limit forces, adjust stiffness and gain, provide interrupts, monitor position versus force, logging data and more. Not to be confused with force limits or compliancy which are other capabilities of the Mitsubishi F series robots, thi...
