The new Virtu™ Analog ultrasonic sensor developed by Hyde Park features sensing ranges from 50.8 mm (2) up to 508 mm (20).
Virtu's dual-mount body style, with its M18 x 1 threaded snout 0.89 long and a 1.49 rectangular body for a total length of only 2.38, and tough VALOX® housing make it not only ideal for many OEM applications but also an unfailing performer for an array of packaging applications, including food and beverage. Virtu is the first sonic compact sensor to offer a dual mounting feature. It operates on 15 to 24 VDC. Virtu also has teach-in window capability, and no downtime is required for sensor recalibration when colors, materials, or shapes change.
With protection ratings of 4X and IP67, this CE certified sensor is resistant to dust, 100% humidity, most acids and bases, and high pressure washdowns that often leave water buildup on the sensing face. This sleek sensor is virtually impervious to the effects of splashing food, caustic cleaning solutions, and changing light conditions or colors. Shielding and filtering make the fully encapsulated sensor resistant to radiated or conducted energy.

The VIRTU sonic sensors utilize a sensing window to perform repeatable detection of objects either inside or outside two set limits. The sensing window limits are set through a pushbutton setup or teach function. The pushbutton is not resident to the sensor. Through an external pushbutton connection with the sensor, the two limits for setting up the sensing window are set. With the limits set, VIRTU detects only those objects that are within a set “window” and ignores all others.
VIRTU is constructed in a rugged NEMA 4X and IP67 rated plastic housing with a versatile dual-mount capability. The roller screw, which consists of multiple threaded rollers assembled in a planetary arrangement around a threaded shaft, is capable of carrying heavy loads for thousands of hours even in very arduous conditions.
This, combined with high torque servo motor technology, results in a compact and powerful linear motion solution. EL Series actuators offer significant advantages in situations where outside contaminants are an issue. All converting components are mounted within the sealed motor housing. With a simple bushing and seal arrangement on the smooth extending rod, abrasive particles or other contaminants are prevented from reaching the actuator's critical mechanisms. This assures trouble-free operation even in the most severe and demanding environments.

1709 2228 2228 FT Series Linear Actuators Exlar Exlar FT Series force tubes use a roller screw mounted inside a telescoping tube mechanism. The follower is attached to the moveable force tube, which then extends and retracts as the screw rotates. The FT Series is designed to be compatible with a wide variety of standard motors. Motor mounting and gearing configurations are available to meet nearly any application's requirements. The standard product offering includes three frame sizes with strokes from 12 inches to eight feet. The continuous duty thrust load rating is 2000 to 20,000 lbf with a peak load rating up to 40,000 lbf.
As with all Exlar's roller screw products, the FT Series force tubes provide high load capacity, high speed capabilities and exceptionally long life when compared to other actuator technologies, such as acme or ball screws. Other force tube technologies on the market, specifically ball screw and acme screw tubes,
are hindered by their limited load/life and speed characteristics. They also require a larger installation footprint than Exlar FT series force tubes.
The FT Series force tube design provides the contamination isolation advantages of hydraulic cylinders without the limited load/life/speed drawbacks of ball or acme screws. All converting components in the FT Series force tubes are mounted within the sealed housing. This prevents abrasive particles and other forms of contamination from entering the actuator's critical mechanisms, assuring trouble-free operation even in the most severe environments.
