And, the INOX IM30 (30 mm unshielded) sensor can detect up to a 40-mm sensing range. In addition, with a reduction factor of up to 0.9, good detection of stainless steel and steel objects can be achieved. Plus, there is no reduction for aluminium versus mild steel. This feature makes it possible to detect commonly used metals in the food and beverage industry at a very similar range.
The M12 device plug has an enclosure rating of IP 69K – as does the swivel nut on the connection cable (available in a variety of lengths between 2 and 25 m with optional LED versions as well). The cable, contact carrier and extrusion are designed in PVC to meet the demands of the food & beverage industry. Up to 16 sensors can be connected to an INOX sensor’s distributor box. A distinction is made between incremental and absolute measuring procedures.
In the case of incremental encoders, the machine must travel to a reference point after each power-off state, as the position is not usually stored in the controller, and movements of the machine while the power is off are not recorded.
Absolute value encoders, on the other hand, also record these movements while the power is off and return the actual position at power-on. Travel to a reference point is not necessary.
All encoders are available in synchro flange and clamp flange versions. Encoders with a synchro flange can be attached to the machine by means of three clamps. Mounting with axial screws is also possible. The encoder is driven by means of a push-on coupling or a spring disk coupling. Alternatively, pulleys can also be used. All VMTs have a software keyboard which has all the alphanumeric keys of a standard keyboard. Five additional buttons are located on the bottom left corner of the VMT front bezel. With the universal activeX-compatible INTERBUS diagnostics software Diag+ it is now possible to directly integrate a fieldbus diagnostics tool in other software applications, e.g., process visualization. Because it can be integrated in other applications, the development time previously required for creating individual fieldbus diagnostic interfaces in visualization, for programming transfer functions for diagnostic data in the control program, and also for programming evaluation functions for diagnostic data, is no longer necessary. Clear text messages and all available status information can be directly accessed by the visualization or the corresponding activeX container. Naturally, the visualization itself can further process all supplied diagnostics data. However, diagnostics software will only become a really helpful tool when user expertise in the form of clear text messages and even possible error causes are given instead of error codes. Using a knowledge database stored in the software, important notes and tips can be given for error removal. Diag+ is a diagnostics tool for all levels and areas of application. The classification into six performance classes (day groups) enables optimal adaptation to the corresponding application. Visualization from Genesis 32 is based on the client server architecture.
