Norstat And Riese Announce New Eco Friendly Safety Relays
SAFE 4.2 eco (An All in One Relay combining SAFE 4 and SAFE 4.1 in "one" unit)
This is a safety relay for single channel and double channel circuit technology for emergency stop and safety gate monitoring with the means of switching over between both starting modes (monitored/not monitored). Several improvements have been made with this device, such as approx. 50% lower power draw, significantly reduced current across the trigger contacts <50mA and improved tolerance to voltage fluctuations. Nothing that has already proved itself was changed. Therefore, the new SAFE 4.2 eco still features 3 Normally Open and 1 Normally Closed Contacts and is largely compatible with terminals and functions of the existing SAFE 4. The device is built as before in a cap rail mountable housing with an overall width of 22.5mm.
b.) SAFE 4.3 eco (A safety relay with antivalent contacts)
This is a safety relay for double channel circuit technology for safety gate monitoring, either with or without start button monitoring. The device features a changeover option between both starting modes. The device supports a closer/opener combination of safety gate trigger elements, whereby
the current over the trigger elements is less than 20 mA. In this way, the device is also suitable for trigger elements equipped with reed output contacts. As with all devices of the new SAFE 4 eco family, SAFE 4.3 eco likewise features 3 Normally Open and 1 Normally Closed Contacts, is more tolerant to voltage fluctuations and is installed in a housing with an overall width of 22.5mm.
6. Conclusion and customer benefit
Both the development department and marketing department at "riese" are proud of the new, eco- friendly product. With this global innovation, it has been possible to launch a device on the market with a better life-cycle assessment, better functionality and at a more favorable price point. In addition, the customer profits from the targeted improvements with a saving over the life cycle of the relay thanks to a reduction in primary
energy consumption.
