Daisy Data Displays Management System Achieves Iso 9001 Certification

YORK HAVEN, Pa. (November 28, 2012) – Daisy Data Displays, Inc.
(D3), a distinguished leader in the hazardous area computing industry for
the past 30 years, is pleased to announce the achievement of a certificate of
registration for International Organization for Standardization 9001:2008
following an independent audit by QMI-SAI Global.

ISO 9001:2008 is recognized by organizations worldwide as a quality
management standard. The organization contains general requirements for
management systems implemented by any organization and applies to the
processes that influence product and service quality. After receiving a thorough
assessment and evaluation of its numerous processes, D3’s management system
has demonstrated its capacity to meet all requirements.

D3 specializes in the engineering and manufacturing of highly reliable ruggedized computing solutions that meet the unique requirements of the military, oil exploration, flight simulation, pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries. The product line ranges from hazardous area PC’s and monitors to ruggedized accessories such as keyboards, purge controls, and mounting options, as well as a variety of custom requests.

“While D3 has had most of the procedures and record-keeping in place that ISO 9001:2008 dictates, the actual certificate is what our customers are looking for,” says President of D3, Avi Shefet. “As a manufacturer of military and hazardous area computers, our customers and approval agencies made it clear to us that the ISO 9001:2008 certificate is preferred and in some cases a must.”

D3’s management system processes evaluated by QMI-SAI Global include the following; system documentation, product documentation, process documentation, preventive maintenance, calibration management, employee involvement, supplier management, customer management, management review, strategic quality planning, internal audits, inspection and test, non-conformance reporting & analysis, and corrective/preventive action.

During the two-day registration audit, a duo of auditors from QMI-SAI Global covered each section of the management system standard. Through employee consultations, a facility inspection, and documentation review, the auditors sampled each process to ensure compliance to the standard.

“The relationship between the various aspects of your organization has been enhanced by the management system through active management involvement, customer focus, and the effective implementation of all audited processes,” said Charlie Sheaffer, U.S. Operations Manager of SAI Global.

Shefet describes his outlook for the company upon attaining the new registration, “ISO 9001:2008 certification is the first step in obtaining ATEX Zone 1 European approval for D3’s products. It will put us a step in the right direction internationally as well as easing the need to qualify D3 as a vendor every time we do business with a new customer in the US.”
