Featured Video - SmartMotor™ - Class 5 Phase Adjust Mode
This video highlights one of several new features that the Class 5 SmartMotor™ offers, the Phase Adjust Mode. While this mode is enabled, the external encoder counter may be multiplied by a user defined ratio and then summed into the internal trajectory path while running in position or velocity mode. Dynamically, the shaft motion and present trajectory path will then be offset in real time by any changes in external encoder input. This dynamic shifting or phase adjustment allows the motor to follow moving product on a conveyor by feeding the conveyor speed via encoder, back into the motor. This mode of operation can be used for many applications including, but not limited to the following:
• Pan & Tilt Gyro Stabilization
• Product Tracking
• Applying Labels to Moving Products
• Arm End Effector Angle Compensation
• Pick & Place to Moving Pallet
