Find Quick, Detailed Answers to Your Difficult Automation Questions

LocalAutomation.com was designed to bring together automation users with their local automation providers.

If you have an automation question, the fastest way to get an answer is to submit your question to LocalAutomation.com.  At the end of each day, we will e-mail your question(s)  to all of the registered automation providers in your area, and by the next day, you should receive a number of helpful responses from highly-capable providers.

Your questions may pertain to any topic in the automation field, such as: new product information, product recommendations, technical support requests, price quotations, system integration notes, machinery design questions, product availability, wiring diagrams, and more!  It's up to you.  Simply submit a question and see who responds!

In order to help you maintain anonymity when posting questions and to avoid receiving overzealous solicitations from local providers, you will have complete control over the information that you reveal in your posting.  The only required information is your location (city and state) and your question.

If you choose, you may include all of your contact information and allow providers to contact you directly, or you may post in confidence and require that providers reply to your posting via LocalAutomation.com.

It's up to you... and it's free!

If you are uncomfortable posting a question for all providers to see, you may be more inclined to peruse our extensive manufacturer directory, distributor directory, or integrator directory and contact suppliers directly.

Send Projects "Out for Bidding"

It is a difficult task for automation users to verify that they are using the best technologies... from the best local providers... at a reasonable price.  As a result, most companies require that new automation projects be sent "out for bidding" to a number of different automation providers.

This is our specialty.  Simply describe your project, attach any pertinent documents, and submit.  We will e-mail your project to all of the registered automation providers in your area, and within a short period of time, you should receive a number of responses from highly-capable, interested providers.

In order to help you maintain anonymity when posting projects and avoid receiving overzealous solicitations from local providers, you will have complete control over the information that you reveal in your posting.  The only required information is your location (city and state), the title of your project, and a brief description of your project.

Find & Evaluate New Providers

You may be automating for the first time... or you may have a project that exceeds the capabilities of your current automation partners.  In either case, a quick search through our extensive manufacturer directory, distributor directory, or integrator directory should help you identify new companies that suit your needs.

Once you find a provider, you may view their extensive online profile which includes their company description, website, local contacts, products sold, services provided, and more!

Find Local Trainings and Events

Educate yourself and your staff by taking advantage of local trainings and events.  Many of your local manufacturers, distributors, and integrators offer low-cost or no-fee trainings on their products and services.  These trainings provide a great opportunity to gain exposure to the latest technologies and evaluate the capabilities of your local providers.

In addition, there are often regional trade shows that focus on specific industries (i.e. pharmaceutical, packaging, food & beverage) and / or specific technologies.

LocalAutomation.com provides a comprehensive list of upcoming trainings and events!  The list is maintained by our members and is always kept up-to-date.  You may search based on the event title, the event description, or the event location.

Give it a try!  It's free!

Research New Products

Our product directory is published and maintained by our members.  The featured products are organized according to technology categories (e.g. servo motors, smart cameras) and are fully searchable based on the product name, product description, and company name.

Use this directory to find products that suit your needs or to simply view the latest technologies being promoted by our members!

Research Automated Systems

There are hundreds of systems integrators and custom machine builders throughout the United States that design and build unique machines for the industrial automation industry.  One or more of these machines may be well suited for an application or project that you are working on.

Use the featured systems directory to view photos and descriptions of automated systems which have been designed by your local systems integrators and machine builders. It's a great way to develop your design ideas and to evaluate the capabilities of your local systems integrators and machine builders.

Receive Automatic Notification of New Questions and New Projects in Your Marketplace

As a registered automation provider, you will receive e-mail notifications every time an automation user submits a question in your area or sends a project "out for bidding."  This is the most powerful feature of LocalAutomation.com... you will be placed in contact with local automation users at the very moment when they are looking for new technologies, looking for new providers, and/or researching new projects!  There is no better time to introduce your company and your capabilities!

To maintain the integrity and relevance of all questions and projects, each automation user must register with LocalAutomation.com before his or her questions/projects are accepted for submission.  This registration process is extremely simple... and free... and it gives our staff the opportunity to quickly pre-qualify each user.

Each user must work in the automation industry and must be local to the marketplace in which he or she is submitting a question or project.  Our staff will verify the accuracy of the user's contact information and will automatically reject users with generic e-mail addresses such as hotmail.com, yahoo.com, and aol.com.  All questions and projects will come from working professionals.

Promote Your Business to Your Local Marketplace

LocalAutomation.com is designed to be local.  When an automation user visits this site from New York, NY, he will view pages that are dedicated to New York and the surrounding states.  As a result, your business profile and your promotions (e.g. upcoming events, featured products, inventory for sale, etc.) will never be lost amidst a list of distant, unrelated businesses.  If you are an automation distributor in New York, you will be profiled with other distributors near New York, etc...

Build a Detailed On-Line Business Profile

Create a comprehensive profile of your company including: a detailed description of your products and services, your company logo, your website, a list of your local contacts (i.e. sales engineers, application engineers, inside support staff), and more!  Think of this as your on-line 'linecard' or 'capabilities brochure'.  Your business profile will be listed in our comprehensive manufacturer directory, distributor directory, or integrator directory and will be randomly selected each day to appear on your local main page of LocalAutomation.com.

As a registered Local Automation provider, you will receive your own 'provider profile' page which you may customize in order to best promote your business.  LocalAutomation.com has developed an elaborate search engine which will automatically present your page to visitors when they enter keywords that match well against your profile.

Link Your Business to Other Businesses

If you are a distributor or systems integrator, you may link your online profile to all of the manufacturers that you sell and support in your area.  If you are an authorized Allen Bradley distributor, for instance, simply link your business to Allen Bradley.  Each time a visitor views information on Allen Bradley or their products, a link to your business profile will appear.

If you work for an automation product manufacturer, your company is often judged on the strength of your products AND the strength of your local support network.  A great product without great local resources is not so great after all.  As a manufacturer, your business profile will include a list of your local contacts, a list of your local distributors, and a list of your local integrators.  All of these 'linked' businesses will be able to promote your products / services and increase the visibility and market presence of your company.

Link Your Business Profile to Key Technologies

The automation industry encompasses thousands of specialized technologies.  With LocalAutomation.com, you can link your company to an unlimited number of these technologies.  If you sell or integrate servo motors, simply link your company to servo motors.  If you are an expert in 3D vision systems, link your company to 3D vision systems.  Any time a site visitor researches one of these technologies, a link to your business will appear as a local resource.

Promote Your Trainings and Events

Build brand awareness, promote your technological capabilities, and attract new customers with local trainings and events.  As a registered automation provider, you will be able to post up to fifteen trainings / events at any given time.  Each event will be viewable on the LocalAutomation.com events page, as well as your business profile page.  Your events will be searchable based on your company name, the name of the event, and the description of the event.   Your events are also guaranteed to appear on your local main page of LocalAutomation.com during the seven days leading up to the event!

Traditionally, the only way to get the word out about a local training or event was through mass mailing, mass faxing, mass e-mailing, or through your local sales force.  These methods work well at reaching your existing customer base (i.e. those customers that you have addresses, e-mail addresses, and fax numbers for)... but how do you attract new customers

LocalAutomation.com was designed to be local and to ensure that your trainings and events will be highly visible to all site visitors in your area.

Promote Your Products

Each registered distributor and manufacturer may promote up to fifteen products at any given time.  Each product will appear in the product directory as well as your business profile page.  Your products will be searchable based on the name of your company, the name of the product, the product description, and  the technology categories which are associated with the product (i.e. servo motors, smart cameras, etc.).  Your products will also be randomly selected to appear on your local main page of LocalAutomation.com.

Your product listings may include pictures and a hyperlink back to your company's website.

Promote Your Automated Systems & Custom Machinery

As a systems integrator, your company spends endless hours designing and building unique automation systems.  These systems are often sold to a single customer, and the rest of the automation industry remains unaware of your designs and your capabilities.

As a registered systems integrator, you may promote your systems in our systems directory.  Each systems integrator may feature up to 15 systems at any given time.  Each system will appear on the system directory page as well as your business profile page.  Your systems will be searchable based on the name of your company, the name of the system, the system description, and  the technology categories which are associated with the system (e.g. servo motors, smart cameras, etc.).

Your system listings may include pictures and a hyperlink back to your company's website.  This is a great way to advertise your hard work and automation expertise!

Post Nationwide Press Releases

Registered automation providers may post up to fifteen press releases at any given time.  Each press release will appear on the press release page and will be searchable based on the title and content of the press release.  Each press release will be visible nationwide, regardless of your location.

Each press release may include a picture and a hyperlink back to a website of your choosing.

Post Job Openings

Registered automation providers may post up to five job openings at any given time.  We do not charge per listing or put a limit on how long the job opening can be listed - it is listed until you find a suitable applicant!  Each job opening will appear on the job openings page and will be searchable based on the title and description of the job.  Each job opening will be visible nationwide, regardless of your location.
